about
The message here is pretty simple: Mother Nature ain't fucking around. Wanna play games with her? She will end you.
Couple o' fun facts about the music: this is our first song featuring the fantastic Lo Marie on vocals (there are more on the way, too); and the rhythm tracks were recorded live, with no editing in post. Even Lo's vocal is mostly from one straight pass. We grabbed a few bits from other takes if she did something extra cool on a given line, but we could have kept the first take straight through and it still would have rocked.
lyrics
I go about the tasks of ordinary life
And find there’s always more ahead
For all the work is not enough to counteract
The virus mindset
And as the poison spreads my way
You can’t get me. Come get me!
Our very home you would betray
Red rover, come on over here
Hear the Redwood calling out
With an audible shout
Revolution stigmatized,
But the end it justifies
Upon the mountainside is where I make my rest
With shades of green upon the ground
Watching the plague approach it breaks my homesick heart
Where green is burnt and black
And as the poison spreads my way
Well, come get me. You can’t get me!
Our very home you would betray
Red rover, come on over here
Hear the Redwood calling out
With an audible shout
Revolution stigmatized,
But the end it justifies
And as the poison spreads my way
Well, come get me. You can’t get me!
Our very home you would betray
Red rover, come on over here
Tag, you’re it, it’s your turn to move
Revolution justified
Rover, rover, come on over
Revolution justified
Tag, you’re it, it’s your time to move
Revolution justified
Tag, you’re it, it’s your turn to move
Rover, rover, come on over
